What can we learn from David Bowie?

I woke up this morning to the death news of David Bowie. It was quite a shock as I have just heard yesterday that he released a new album last Friday. So I automatically searched for the death reason as I thought considering his age and the big news on Friday his death was unexpected. I was wrong. He died of cancer and he almost completed his album on his deathbed. That blew my mind even more; the fact that he was still creating and innovating when he was dealing with the two most depressing words: Cancer and Death.

As his producer Tony Visconti wrote:

“He always did what he wanted to do. And he wanted to do it his way and he wanted to do it the best way. His death was no different from his life – a work of Art. He made Blackstar for us, his parting gift.”

Ofcourse if you do what you love and believe, you will be flourishing and creating till the last moment. You cherish your life and touch others by leaving your mark till the end and I guess this is exactly the definition of a legend. And David Bowie undoubtedly was and will be a LEGEND.

As some believe the length of your life is not as important as the width of it and I guess they are right.
