These days I am hearing the word “priority” a lot. I have always thought that I am an organized person with the tasks I am supposed to do in a weekly or daily basis. Actually I thought and still think that I am a good multitasking character, but it seems as though I have sever issues with some basic steps along the way. I am listening to so many audio podcasts and videos and one of the most interesting ones that I have encountered recently regarding this matter is “five(5) skills to learn and apply on your daily and professional life”:
The skills are:
4) Innovation and
Concentration is basically to be able to focus the attention. So I guess as much as multitasking is an asset, it is necessary for the mind to be able to focus and concentrate on one thing at the time.
Discrimination is the second skill which is being able to choose what is important over what is not, in other words to define the priorities correctly. As easy as it sounds I struggle a lot choosing between the tasks I have.
Third is organization, to be organized in what we do, from our personal tasks, to our homes, and to our minds. To have an organized and clear mind to be able to take actions as planned.
Fourth is innovation, the skill to find the better way in anything we do. It can be our weekly cooking habits, or how we fill the excel sheets or even how to discuss an issue that matters a lot.
And last is communication, the art of connecting with people.
I am pretty sure that we are all different in our weaknesses and strengths, but it is very promising that we can practice all these skills in our everyday lives. This will allow us to develop ourselves to take further steps firmly. I am already having the exercises in my daily plan.
